BALL HOCKEY RULES
Rules of ball hockey, same as, ice hockey with a few exceptions.
- No two-line pass rule: Center line will not exist for two line pass off sides, which will promote long passes and more scoring opportunities
- Floating Blue Line: This method of offside is exclusive to ball hockey. The attacking team on offense uses the blue line, the same as in ice hockey, until they enter the offensive zone. Once entered the center line acts as the blue line and the defensive team must clear the ball past the center line before it is considered out of the zone
- No Touch Icing: Speeds up game and eliminates possible injuries
- 1st Period: 25 minutes running time
- 2nd Period: 20 minutes running time with Stop Time in last 5 minutes
- Stop Time: If score is greater than a 5 goal spread there will be no stop time
- Stick Infractions 4 minutes: all stick infractions (high stick, slashing etc) are 4 minute penalties per CBHA rules. A double minor for sticking infraction counts as 1 penalty. 3 penalties in one game leads to ejection from game
- Gross/Match/Fighting penalties: will not be tolerated, all are subject to review by league/referees and will be subject to a minimum 3 game suspension.
